apparel
Apparel designs are either sold at workshops or made for a team’s showcase performance. They are independent of the yearly theme and color palette. The primary focus of these designs was to strike a balance between executing artistic vision and maintaining financial feasibility (typically within $20-$30). All apparel was designed in Adobe Illustrator.
Wintensive T-shirt
Wintensive is a yearly event that FC hosts where industry dancers teach the UCLA dance community at no cost to attendees. I was tasked to design a t-shirt that would be sold at the event and was given free creative control so long as the necessary event information was included. I was inspired by Y2K motifs and K-pop groups such as NewJeans and Aespa for this design due to how it tied into the year-long theme of "Interstellar". I expressed this through the use of stars, bold shapes, and font choice. The limited color palette of black, white, and lavender kept costs to a minimum, but the use of outlining and effects kept the design visually interesting and on theme. The final product cost about $10/shirt to manufacture and sold for $20 each.

"All out" team gear
I coordinated with the directors and captains of Team All Out to design this jacket for their performance. The initial idea I was provided with was to create something that embodied fire and a circular motif, so the early iterations of this logo included a circular dragon with the team name emblazoned across the center. As discussions progressed, it evolved to a fiery dragon on the back and the team logo on the front pocket. The team logo was initially contained in a circle but evolved to a poker chip due to "all out" being similar to the poker term "all in" and the phrase being part of the team chant. I chose a brushwork style font for the logo as it fit the edgy vibe of the design but was still legible enough to be read from a distance.
The back design is screen printed and the front is embroidered. Factors affecting the final cost were the initial blank jacket, number of colors, number of locations with designs, and doing screenprinting vs embroidery. Working with team leadership, we struck a balance between a high-quality product and cost-saving measures, resulting in a final product under $30.
